In the past, human survival depended on intelligence, initiative and efforts of individuals or of one's family. Humans adapted and developed tools, and weapons to keep themselves alive. The survival of human kind depended on one's ability to satisfy basic needs.
Early man made and used stone tools to get food and to protect himself. This was the first form of technology. When man began to use his stone tools in different ways to get the best results, this was the first form of invention and innovation
As humans adapted, the economic systems began. Instead of doing everything oneself, humans started specializing in or doing only those things they do best. Specialize workers would trade or sell work that he or she does to others. Then he or she would, in turn get what her or she wants from this trading and selling. This new system of exchanging good and service is the basis for our economic system.
