Elementary Technology Education

 Elementary Technology Education Because technology encompasses every aspect of life, the study of technology should be included in every student's education at every level. From conception to death, humans use technology to extend their abilities and to meet basic needs and wants. Technological literacy, the byproduct of technology education is critical for individuals to use technology safety, efficiently, and effectively.

Technology education is essential in the education of Elementary schools. During the elementary years students gain the educational foundations, which they will use for the rest of their lives.

According to the Constructivist theory of learning, students construct knowledge from previous experiences. The Elementary years are when students gain these experiences.

American's society is becoming very complex. Basic reading, writing, and math skills are not enough to ensure the success of every student. Students will be expected to know, understand, and apply technology for the rest of their lives. Denying the students the opportunity to use and explore technology in elementary schools is an injustice to their future success.

Elementary School Technology Education is a educational program in which children in 5th or lower engage in activities designed to help them learn about technology and the world around them.

According to Benjamin Bloom, student gain 50% of their intelligence from conception to age four. Students gain another 20% of their intelligence from age four to age eight.
