Purpose of Technology Education

                    Technological Literacy

Imagine a world without computers, phones, televisions, tools, machines, microwaves, the internet, homes, vehicles, and all the other many technological devices humans use on a daily basis. What would that world be like? Everyday everyone uses some form of technology.

What does this mean to you? In today's technological society, the individuals who are technologically literate are the one who can conquer problems without the help of others. He or she is able to select the best products for his or her purposes, operate the products properly, and troubleshoot them when something goes wrong.

Why should I study Technology?
     *  Almost every profession uses some form of technology on a daily basis.
     *  Technology education teachers how to solve real-world problems.
     *  Technology is constantly changing.
     *  Technological Literacy helps solve problems before they occur.
     *  Technology is often taken for granted.
     *  Devices are used daily by individuals who do not know how they actually work.
     *  The use of technology has positive and negative impacts.
     *  Technological literacy helps one make sense of the world.
     *  Technology education teaches about the world that inventors, engineers, and other
         innovators have created.
     *  Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies.
     *  Understand how particular technologies are developed and used.
     *  Evaluate technologies' effects on other technologies, on the environment, and
        on society
     *  Not only does technology help solve problems, but it may also create new ones.
     * Technology education teachers how to learn.
